Grants/Fellowships
UC Davis offers many grants to instructors who wish to improve undergraduate instruction. Some of these are coordinated by the TRC, some by other programs on campus. Click the links below to learn more about each of the opportunities.
For faculty
Undergraduate Instructional Improvement Program (UIIP) - large grants for improving instruction
Educational Technology Resource Awards (ETRA) - resources for instructional projects involving technology (e.g., simulation, digitizing slides, streaming video, 3D animation, or multimedia database instructional software, e.g., Breeze, Almagest). The request must pertain directly to the instruction of a regularly-scheduled course. Note: Starting spring 2009, the UIIP and ETRA application processes have been merged.
First-Year Seminar Minigrants - to assist faculty offering first-year seminars
UIIP Minigrants/Travel grants - up to $500 for instructional purposes, applications accepted any time

For faculty and graduate students
Dean Witter fund - for informal interactions between students and faculty and/or TAs (meals, gatherings, etc.); $20 per individual with a maximum of $100 per event.
To improve graduate student teaching
Teaching Assistant Development Grants - direct funding to departments for support of TA-related programs - requires faculty sponsorship.
Chancellor’s Teaching Fellowships - The Chancellor’s Teaching Fellowship Program at the University of California, Davis, provides talented and highly motivated graduate students with comprehensive college teaching experiences under the close guidance of campus faculty members.
