Pseudobulbs

Present in orchids. Specialized stem consisting of en-larged, fleshy section of stem with 1 to several nodes.
Example:orchid

Methods of propagation

1. Offshoots - Roots form naturally at base of offshoots which, themselves, form at nodes of pseudobulb. Cut off offshoots and plant.
2. Division - Cut rhizome into sections and plant. Each section should include terminal end and 4-5- pseudobulbs. New growth will also start from the old parts of the rhizome.
3. Backbulbs - Bulbous section without foliage is sepa-rated, potted up, and new shoots develop. (Cymbid-ium)
4. Green bulbs- Bulbous section with leaves are sepa-rated, treated with IBA and planted. (Cymbidium)
