Pseudobulbs
Present in orchids. Specialized stem consisting
of en-larged, fleshy section of stem with 1 to several nodes.

Methods of propagation
1. Offshoots -
Roots form naturally at base of offshoots which, themselves, form
at nodes of pseudobulb. Cut off offshoots and plant.
2. Division - Cut rhizome into sections
and plant. Each section should include terminal end and 4-5- pseudobulbs.
New growth will also start from the old parts of the rhizome.
3. Backbulbs - Bulbous section without
foliage is sepa-rated, potted up, and new shoots develop. (Cymbid-ium)
4. Green bulbs- Bulbous section with
leaves are sepa-rated, treated with IBA and planted. (Cymbidium)
