Galini

Galen. ASCRIPTI LIBRI QVI VARIAM ARTIS MEDICAE. 1515.
Doctor Galen was born in Pergamus, Greece, between 129-200 A.D. During the Fifteenth Century the medical profession changed his name to GALINI or GALENO. He differed from most medical scientists of his time by practicing Pathology instead of turning to teaching as did most of his colleagues. Although born in Greece, Doctor Galen practiced in Rome and left such an impression there that up to the Sixteenth Century his books were considered to be the foremost on Physiology and his ideas were accepted without question.
