Selected passages from the account of Dr. Georg von Langsdorff in his
book Voyages and Travels in Various Parts of the World, during the Years
1803, 1804, 1805, 1806, and 1807. These passages describe the period Dr.
Langsdorff spent ashore in San Francsico from March 27, 1806 to May 11,
1806 during a voyage to California accompanying Nikolai Petrovich Rezanov,
high official of the Imperial Court. Travels in Various Parts of the World
was the first California travel account written by a doctor of medicine.
