There is a systemic circuit which pumps blood through the entire body and returns deoxygenated blood to the heart. The left ventricle pumps blood to the entire body except the lungs. Note the walls are thicker than the right ventricle. The sytemic circulation is a higher pressure system than the pulmonary circulation.
