Bone Introduction

Bone is one type of connective tissue. It plays an important role in its contribution to the skeleton of vertebrates. It may also contain blood forming tissue and is a major storage site of calcium and phosphate ions. Bone is a living tissue that is constantly undergoing reorganization throughout the life of the animal in response to stresses placed on it and the mineral needs of the body.
