Structure List
Endoneurium
Myelinated fibers
Unmyelinated fibers
Schwann cell bodies

Unmyelinated axons will be found in groups surrounded by a Schwann cell. There are three levels of organization for connective tissue within the peripheral nerves. Each nerve fiber consists of an axon, which will be heavily stained in these preparations, a myelin sheath and a Schwann cell body. The connective tissue surrounding individual nerve fibers is called the endoneurium.
