CANINE OVIDUCT. The oviduct is a small muscular tube which carries the ovum from the ovary to the uterus. The wall of the uterine tube consists of three concentric layers. Shown here is the Mucosa - the innermost layer lining the cavity of the uterine tube. The cells are simple columnar epithelium which is secretory in part and has patches of ciliated cells in others. The degree of secretion varies with the estrous cycle.
