Medium Magnification View

RESPIRATORY BRONCHIOLES with their distinguishing features: cuboidal epithelium (can be ciliated), walls interrupted at intervals by thin saccular outpocketings, alveoli. Gas exchange occurs in the respiratory bronchioles. Not all animals have the same quantity of respiratory bronchioles. For example, they are poorly developed in horses and humans, but well developed in monkeys and carnivores.
