IC Lesson 15 Audio Practice
revised May 17, 2005

  1. 20 minutes Speaking: Repeat after the speaker in the sound files, and record your voice using Audacity. Focus on dialogue two. Play back each sentence to match your pronunciation with the native speaker. Do each sentence several times until your pronunciation is as close as possible. Then, open this sound file page and answer the questions verbally based on the dialogue (or real life where applicable). Export the files as MP3 (for file format section V1) and save them in the Jacob Students folder as before.
  2. 5 minutes Structure: Go to the Lesson 15 sentence patterns. Be sure to click through to all the patterns for lesson 15.
  3. 10 minutes Writing: Go to the animated characters page for lesson 15 and view all the characters as they animate. Make a chart and write down all the characters you have learned so far with radicals relating to part of the body, such as: flesh, hand, eye, ear, mouth. Include characters from lesson 15 and earlier.
  4. 15 minutes Multimedia Scavenger Hunt: View or listen to these clips and write down any phrases you can recognize onto a blank piece of paper. Some contain material relating to lesson 15, others review from previous lessons.
  1. Other activities (choose):
    1. Berkeley listening exercises for lesson 15.
    2. Games: pinyin-English, characters-English, characters-pinyin. First do matching or flashcards, then concentration.
    3. Play the vocabulary quiz game for this lesson (select "large fonts" first).
