Audio Practice

- 20 minutes Speaking: Repeat
after the speaker in the sound files,
and record your voice using Audacity. Focus on dialogue two. Play back
each sentence to match your pronunciation with the native speaker. Do each
sentence several times until your pronunciation is as close as possible.
Then, open this sound file
page and answer the questions verbally based on the dialogue (or real life
where applicable). Export the files as MP3 (for file format section V1)
and save them in the Jacob Students folder as before.
- 5 minutes Structure: Go
to the Lesson 15 sentence
patterns. Be sure to click through to all the patterns for lesson 15.
- 10 minutes Writing: Go to the animated
characters page for lesson 15 and view all the characters as they
animate. Make a chart and write down all the characters you have learned
so far with radicals relating to part of the
body, such as: flesh,
hand, eye, ear, mouth. Include characters from lesson
15 and earlier.
- 15 minutes Multimedia Scavenger Hunt: View
or listen to these clips and write down any phrases you can recognize
onto a blank
piece of paper. Some contain material relating to lesson 15, others review
from previous lessons.
- Listen to each line of the classical poem and
fill in the pinyin for what you hear.
Although classical Chinese grammar is a little different from that of modern
Mandarin, you should be able to pick out two relative location phrases.
