Welcome
to beginning Chinese language at UC Davis. Check out the syllabus
to see the grading policy and how the course is set up. You may
also see the calendar for the major
items for the whole semester. Details of daily homework assignments
will
be posted one lesson at a time, so choose a lesson from the preparation
guide (upper right-hand corner of this page) at the beginning
of each lesson. Please note that, prior to the start of each
lesson,
I may make
small
adjustments
to
the
assignments for that lesson, but the overall structure will remain
the same. Just below the prep guide, the on-line resources
have
important information as well as games to help you learn. The
on-line resources also include a link to free Chinese
fonts for Windows, which you will need to read some of
the pages. Mac users can get the Chinese language kit bundled
in with the most
recent version of their OS.
You may
download some of the PowerPoint
presentations, and I've added a link to the free PowerPoint viewer,
in case you don't already have PowerPoint. They are in regular PowerPoint
format (not web page format).
