CourseBuilder interactions allow
students flexibility to spend more time on the activities
they need most. Because the teacher is not necessarily looking
over their shoulders, students can try as many times as they
need to get the right answer without feeling embarrassed about
it.

CourseBuilder activities allow students to interact
with the computer. Students learn actively by trying things
out and seeing the results, rather than passively absorbing
information.

It is easy to give customized
feedback based on common errors. If a student misses
a certain question, he or she can be given a hint, directed
to a web page with more information, or given an additional
selection of related exercises for more practice. If a student
gets a question right, he or she can be given positive reinforcement
and directed to more advanced activities at the next level.

Being web-based,
CourseBuilder interactions are available whenever and wherever
students want to use them. No special software is needed, other
than a browser. Having materials on the web rather than on CD-ROM
allows instructors to make changes and additions whenever they
want, as well.
