Evaluation of Courses and Instruction

TRC provides assistance for both mid-quarter (formative) and end-of-quarter (summative) evaluation of courses and programs. Information may be obtained from instructors, students, other participants, peers, and through direct classroom observation. Survey forms (standard or custom), video, and audiotape options are available.

End-of-Quarter Evaluation

Instructor-Initiated Student Feedback
Choose your questions and receive confidential results.

Department-Initiated Evaluations
Assistance with drafting questions, creating departmental evaluation forms, and processing and summarizing the information. Information on preparing forms.

Questions involving Scantron evaluations should be directed to Barbara Mills, bjmills@ucdavis.edu

Mid-Quarter Evaluation

Class Interview (also known as a Quick Course Diagnosis)
A TRC staff member conducts an interactive 15-minute student survey designed to elicit focused and constructive information.

Videotaping
Another option is class observation and videotaping, followed by confidential consultation. Request form.
